What is a B Corp Certification?

A B Corp, or Benefit Corporation, is a for-profit company that has gone through a rigorous certification process with B Lab, a global nonprofit organization. B Lab evaluates a company's impact on its workers, customers, community, and environment, and issues B Corp certifications to businesses that meet high standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency. 

Companies with a B Corp Certification are part of a growing movement of people using business as a force for good. Across more than 95 countries in over 160 industries, more than 8,000 companies are putting people and the planet before profits and redefining what it means to be successful in business.

Our Journey: How We Became B Corp Certified

Our Commitment to B Corp Values

We decided to become a B Corp certified company because it aligns with our three core values: People Matter, Be Like Gumby, Do It Right, and with our mission to help organizations to unlock their digital future. We wanted to join this global movement because we truly believe our business can be a force for good, that technology can be a force for good, and to inspire change for the better.

Starting the B Impact Assessment

In the summer of 2021, we started working on the B Impact Assessment, a detailed evaluation of our social and environmental impact across five areas: governance, workers, environment, community, and customers. The assessment evaluated how we perform on various indicators, such as our mission and vision, our employee benefits and involvement, our carbon footprint and waste reduction, our supplier diversity and local engagement, and our customer satisfaction and data security. 

Navigating the Certification Process

The assessment was rigorous and comprehensive, requiring us to provide proof and documentation for each indicator. It also challenged us to think about our current practices and identify areas for enhancement. We learned a lot from the process and gained useful insights into how we can be a more responsible and sustainable business.

Celebrating Our B Corp Certification

We are proud that we were certified with a score of 83.8 on the assessment, exceeding the minimum requirement of 80 to be invited to become a Certified B Corporation®. Our public profile disclosing our score for each area can be seen on B Lab's website.

#EMPOWER, Our Annual Virtual Conference for Nonprofits and Charities

We are committed to donating 1% or more of our time to volunteering and/or pro bono work for nonprofits and charities who serve our communities.

Our biggest annual giveback initiative is #Empower, a virtual conference designed to provide nonprofits and charities with the latest and most relevant content to empower them to achieve their goals and objectives. Since 2020, we have hosted #Empower annually, offering premium content to nonprofits and charities completely free of charge.
