Customer Challenge: Outdated Infrastructure

ReMark International (ReMark) is a global insurance consultancy empowering insurers across the globe to achieve sustainable growth. ReMark had been using out-of-date infrastructure and needed to upgrade their technology environment for their data analytics needs. Over time, the solution had become challenging to work with and because of the changing nature of the industry, they decided to migrate to a modern, industry-standard cloud platform.

Their main goal was to keep the current input and output data formats while migrating to a new solution. ProServeIT was engaged to carry out a Cloud Data and Analytics Discovery project, with the aim of understanding the existing system and developing a plan for a smooth transition to a modern cloud solution, Azure Synapse Analytics.

The Solution: Two-phased Implementation Approach

ProServeIT worked with ReMark to modernize their data analytics platform through a two-phased implementation approach. The Discovery served as a framework to help complete Phase 1 and Phase 2 of the implementation which included: Infrastructure Assessment, Scalability and Extensibility Analysis, Cloud Platform Identification, Security and Compliance Review, and Data Format Retention.

A comprehensive cost analysis was also conducted, identifying capital and operating costs for the new analytics platform. The findings served as a framework for Phase 1 and Phase 2 of the implementation project.

ProServeIT collaborated closely with ReMark throughout the process, using a mentoring approach. This empowered ReMark with the knowledge and skills needed to manage and support the new data analytics platform independently once the implementation was complete.

ReMark’s migration to Azure Synapse Analytics was transformational. Their data analytics solution became more efficient and future-ready. This modernization enabled them to take advantage of cutting-edge cloud platform technologies, tools, and services, resulting in improved performance and capabilities.

The new cloud-based infrastructure increased ReMark's scalability and extensibility. They could now accommodate increasing data volumes and future business growth without compromising system performance. Retaining data formats ensured a smooth transition for end users, while cost optimization ensured financial viability. ProServeIT’s mentoring approach empowered ReMark's team, increasing confidence in managing the platform independently. The project improved collaboration and provided them with a competitive advantage in providing innovative services to clients.
