Customer Challenge: Persistent Global Cybersecurity Threats
The Royal Ontario Museum (ROM), situated in Toronto, Ontario, is one of North America’s largest and most prominent museums. Established in 1914, the ROM is dedicated to engaging the public through a variety of exhibitions, research activities, and educational programs.
The ROM was facing several challenges related to security, including persistent cyberattacks from various sources across the globe. ProServeIT’s Complimentary Threat Landscape Review identified key vulnerabilities, security gaps, and threats, underscoring the urgent need for enhanced cybersecurity measures.
The extensive report provided a detailed visualization of login attempts worldwide, highlighting some that were successful and others that were unsuccessful. It also provided a secure score evaluation and other valuable insights. It allowed the ROM to understand where attacks were happening and what actions they needed to take.
The Solution: A Proactive Response to Cybersecurity Threats with Alarm Guardian
To address the security challenges faced by the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM), ProServeIT implemented Alarm Guardian. Built on Microsoft Sentinel, Alarm Guardian is a secure subscription-based service designed to identify a range of security threats across an enterprise.
This solution provided 24/7 real-time monitoring, detection, and alerting of all security threats tied to Microsoft 365, digital identities, and up to 5 additional data sources. In addition, the solution included proactive threat hunting and playbooks for automated responses to certain security threats to enhance the ROM’s ability to react swiftly and effectively.

• Security management of Microsoft Sentinel.
• User and Entity Behavior Analysis (UEBA).
